Data quality shifting left has been a recent epiphany for me too! Trying to solve GIGO has always been a data and analytics struggle, but devolving that responsibility to the producers makes so much sense, it's just that folks have been historically bad at doing it.
There is a lot of process that goes into it. Data and business people aren't good at process when it comes down to it, making any shift left quite difficult

Love your focus on the important aspect of Data Trust.
IMO, trust is the holy grail of data.
If you don't have trust in the data, you don't have anything! Stakeholder need that trust to actually use it
